Flavorful portions that feel like a first upgrade

The fish burger at BASHI BURGER CHANCE Ikebukuro 池袋 ハンバーガー in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, was flavorful and came with a generous portion of fries, making it clearly better than places like McDonald’s, but still not quite at the level of the stronger burger spots out there.

My partner ordered a beef burger, which was satisfying but not particularly memorable. Overall, the food sits somewhere between fast food and more gourmet-style burgers. One detail we both liked was the vinegar available for fries, which added something a bit different.

A colorful space with easy, foreigner-friendly comfort

The interior uses bold red tones and colorful decor, giving the place a fun and lively atmosphere. It feels like a lot of effort went into making the space visually engaging, which we appreciated.

The staff interaction was minimal but polite, and everything ran smoothly. The restaurant is foreigner-friendly, with an English menu and English signage throughout. Reservations are not required.

In terms of price, it feels slightly high for the quality. It is better than typical fast food, but compared to stronger burger spots, the value feels a bit lacking. Still, it remains a pleasant place that delivers a fun experience, even if it is not something we would go out of our way for.
