Simple skewers, standout service
👍
Time of visit: March 2023
Solid yakitori, but limited variety
I visited Toriteru 鳥テル in Nakano-ku, Tokyo, for a casual yakitori dinner. The yakitori was good overall, with consistent quality across the basics. We ordered kawa (chicken skin), tsukune (chicken meatball), seseri (chicken neck), etc. and ended up repeating several items because the menu was not very diverse for a yakitori-focused place. The kawa stood out the most and was the one we kept going back to.

Service that stands out
What stood out more than the food was the service. The staff were exceptionally friendly and polite, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

They showed us a special bottle of nihonshu and recommended it, which added a personal touch to the experience.

The only drawback is the access, as the nearest station, Araiyakushi-mae, was not very convenient for us to reach, so we decided to walk instead.
English menus are not available. Reservations are not required. Credit card is accepted.

Summary
Simple skewers, standout service 👍
Toriteru offers solid yakitori with a standout chicken skin, though the limited menu reduces variety. The excellent service is the highlight and makes the experience more enjoyable. Despite slightly inconvenient access, the overall value feels strong.
