A refined experience with a few noticeable drawbacks
👍
Time of visit: January 2023
Strong flavors overall with one underwhelming dish
The food at Tsukushiro Ginza 筑紫樓(ツクシロウ) 銀座店 in Ginza (Chuo-ku), Tokyo, was excellent overall, with most dishes feeling carefully executed and satisfying. Everything we had was delicious, with rich and well-balanced flavors, except for one outlier.

The Peking duck was presented as a whole, but the portion served was surprisingly small, which took away from the experience.

The shark fin soup was pleasant, but ultimately bland and unmemorable, lacking the depth expected from a dish like this.

A beautiful space with slightly harsh lighting
The restaurant features a gorgeous and expansive interior, with luxurious carpeting and detailed wall decorations that create an upscale and elegant atmosphere. However, the lighting felt quite bright, which slightly reduced the overall ambiance.

Service was generally polite and well-mannered, but not entirely consistent. There was an instance of a male staff member who came across as rude and hasty, which contrasted with the otherwise professional service.

Prices are quite high, making this more suitable for a special occasion. While the overall experience is refined, the value feels moderate considering the portion sizes and uneven elements.
