Fluffy and Carefully Built
At eggslut in Shinjuku, Tokyo, the first thing you notice is the texture.
The buns were very fluffy and light. They almost dissolved as you bit into them, but still held their shape.
I tried the Fairfax Sandwich. The scrambled egg was also soft and slightly sweet. It felt airy and gentle. Not heavy. Not greasy. Just balanced. Eating it was simple and enjoyable.
My partner chose Route 20 Sandwich: meaty and delicious.
The sandwiches were carefully cooked and assembled. The layers were neat. The portions felt considered. They looked clean and precise on the plate. You can tell attention was paid to the details.
This is not an overloaded sandwich. It is controlled and well executed. The quality of the food makes the visit worthwhile.
The sandwiches were so light that it didn’t feel like much had filled our stomachs. So we visited LUKE’S LOBSTER upstairs right after this.

The interior is modern and playful. It was quite crowded when we went, but the space still felt comfortable.
Service was minimal yet efficient. Polite and straightforward. The food was served nicely without unnecessary fuss.
There is an English menu, which is helpful. No reservation is required. They accept credit cards.
At around 2000 yen for two of us, the pricing feels reasonable for Tokyo. It reflects the quality and the care in preparation.
Overall, it is a well-run, popular spot focused on doing one thing properly: good sandwiches.
