A traditional French dinner that feels both refined and slightly interrupted
👍
Time of visit: December 2021
A classic French course that delivers throughout
We visited Apicius アピシウス, a French restaurant in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, for a celebration, and the experience centered around a set menu of traditional French cuisine. Each course was well-prepared and consistent, with a natural flow from start to finish. The meal ended with a cheese tray, which stood out as a satisfying and very traditional finish.
A formal setting with a private room that almost feels secluded
The restaurant has a classic French atmosphere with a clear dress code. We were given a large private room, which added comfort and a sense of exclusivity to the evening. However, the experience felt less private than expected, as staff would open the door frequently, interrupting the sense of seclusion.

Attentive service with a few small inconsistencies
Service was polite and attentive, and overall the staff made an effort to take care of us. There were small details that stood out, such as being given incorrect glasses for drinks, which slightly affected the experience but did not take away from it entirely.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and well-balanced experience, especially suited for a special occasion, even if a few details slightly disrupted the atmosphere.
English menu is available. Reservations are not clearly required, but we made one in advance. Credit cards are accepted.
