It looked like a normal vending corner until it started feeling wrong
👋
Time of visit: March 2026
The machines that didn’t feel like they belonged
We stumbled on Weird Vending Machine Corner 変な自販機コーナー in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, during a night walk, and at first it just looked like another row of vending machines. That’s everywhere here, nothing unusual. But then my partner noticed something felt off.

The machines looked dirty, dark, and slightly abandoned, like they had been left there too long.
We stepped closer.
Nothing here made sense, and that was the point
What they were selling wasn’t normal. Not your typical drinks. There were cans of yakitori, oden, even dried bread, sitting behind cloudy plastic. Some drinks looked just as questionable, including things like suppon turtle drink.

Then there were the boxes.

Plain packages, wrapped in paper, each with English text printed on them. Not labels. More like short essays. Each one had a price, like any other item, but no clear explanation of what was inside.

We didn’t buy anything. My partner almost tried, but I stopped him. The whole setup felt too strange to trust, like some kind of experiment or joke.
Interesting to see once. Still weird.
